Many areas provide reduced-rate bus service or train service
for seniors. Some locales have a
“senior bus” that provides door-to-door services at a reasonable cost. Many retirement facilities provide their own
bus service for their residents. Also,
some agencies, churches and senior centers may have volunteers that will
provide limited transportation for necessary trips such as doctors appointments,
hospital visits, etc. Check with a local senior center or Area Agency on Aging office to find
out what local services are available.
